Another – “really?” I wrote recently to you, that I could probably go back and edit out some photos from these archives, and this would probably be one of them… always find it interesting what catches other people’s fancy, that really don’t do that much with me.

Anyway, that is actually one of my very first digital images… taken with a digital video camera that I had just gotten, and was out just testing, shooting footage. It had the ability to shoot stills also, and can’t remember if this was one of them, or an actual frame of footage.ReplyCancel

Don’t know what to say, maybe it’s just me :).  But the repeating shapes, the jagged ice crystals, and the framing of the tracks really works for me.  Best photo on this page, imho, although now that I’m looking again, I think I’d like Backyards Still Life a lot more if there was a bit more space at the bottom of the frame, I don’t like how it’s cropped there, I feel it’s too abrupt.  I would have rather seen an inch of photo less at the top and an inch more at the bottom.  The colours are really great though.  Just my opinion, of course!ReplyCancel

Yeah, Backyard, was just me being bored and to fill it, thought I would go oit back of my brother’s house here, and experiment with some HDR shots, that I was like waaay into at the start of my digital conversion.  I remember this shot being a toss-up to keep in my Photography section, but something about it, the still life capture of just an ordinary scene, just stuck with me… but yeah, I framed it too tight… I was more concerned about getting inside the garage window there, for the whole HDR aspect, I thinkReplyCancel
